How to Celebrate a Graduation Day

graduation day

Graduation is an incredibly significant day for everyone involved. It marks the end of a journey that has seen many achievements and milestones, as well as a lot of personal transformation and self-dependence. It’s a day that reflects how far a graduate has come and also gives their friends and family a chance to reflect on all of the amazing memories they have shared together.

Often, graduation ceremonies will start with an academic procession where all the students will stand and be escorted into the ceremony room, most likely in alphabetical order by their last names. This can take up to 20 minutes or so and staff will help everyone find their seats as quickly as possible.

Once the graduands are all seated there will be a welcome speech from the President or Vice Chancellor or other senior members of the academic board who you might recognise from your course. After this the graduands will be invited up to walk across the stage to receive their degrees. This will be the moment that all of their friends and family will cheer and applaud them for their huge accomplishment.

A great way to celebrate a graduating student is to have close friends and family draft letters of congratulations, good luck, wishes and funny anecdotes that they can send on upgraded stationery. This is a great way to let your graduate know how proud you are of them without spending too much money.
