For many students, graduation day marks the end of their academic journey and is often referred to as a rite of passage. The day is a time to celebrate with the friends and family who have been there for them along the way, reminisce of the memories they’ve made, and wish one another luck in their future endeavours.
While there are many different ways to celebrate a graduate’s achievement, it is important that their true meaning of the day remains intact. The true meaning of graduation day is not a party or a big gift, but rather the pride they feel on that day knowing that they overcame all the obstacles to reach this milestone and receive their diploma.
In addition to celebrating the graduates, graduation ceremonies also give a chance for teachers to be recognized for their dedication and hard work. Teachers can be a great inspiration to students, and the work they put into their classes helps guide them through difficult times in life. At the Roseville Adult Learning Center and Fairview Alternative High School graduations, students were able to share their heartfelt stories of how their teachers have touched them.
A graduation ceremony is a wonderful event to witness, but it’s important that the graduates are allowed to enjoy the moment without any distractions from those around them. It’s important that guests refrain from taking photos or videos during the ceremony, especially during any presentations. These could distract the graduates while they’re accepting their awards and can contribute to a disruption of the overall event.
